Position Overview

Alkami is hiring a UX Designer. We know unicorns are rare, but we are looking for a UX Designer that can help shepherd a design process from end-to-end and are able to get scrappy as needed. Can you do a little bit of research, journey mapping, wireframing, prototyping, and a little bit of visual design?

We’re looking for a UX Designer who connects the dots between business needs, innovation, and good design. The ideal candidate will work on various projects including innovation projects and projects aimed at improving existing digital experiences. The UX Designer will be comfortable with ambiguity and will be able to thrive in an environment where learnings come from many places. They will be joining a team with a strong mix of skills and will need to have a ‘can do attitude’ as well as the ability to communicate with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities & Duties
Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions.
Experienced solving problems with the ability to bring calm, order, and elegance to product experiences.
Assist in making strategic design and user-experience decisions for new and existing functions and features.
Work with product management, developers, and leadership to set the product direction.
Facilitate product vision by researching, conceiving, wireframing, sketching, prototyping, and mocking up user experiences for digital banking and financial products.
Translate concepts into wireframes and mockups that lead to intuitive user experiences.
Design and deliver the right artifacts including, but not limited to wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.
Ability to communicate your work to product management and engineers clearly and constructively.
Advocate for user-centered design and have a clear understanding of its importance.
Take smart risks and champion new ideas.
Take ownership of your projects and follow through on delivery to production and beyond.
Other duties as assigned
Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Computer Science, Psychology or related fields (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of related experience (with a digital portfolio to prove it!). Preference will be given to candidates who have experience designing complex solutions for complete digital environments.
Proficient in Sketch, Invision, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
Desired Skills
Digital banking experience, or similar workflow-heavy, complex experience.
